Our commitment to you
Every quaker parrot we offer is hand-raised or carefully sourced, hand-fed where applicable, and given the time it needs to wean fully before it's ever listed for sale. This policy exists so you know exactly what to expect, from the moment you order to the moment your bird settles into its new home.
We treat every shipment the way we'd want our own bird treated in transit, because at that point, it effectively is.
Health screening before shipping
Before any bird is approved for shipment, it goes through:
- A visual health check covering weight, feather condition, eyes, beak, and vent
- Confirmation that the bird is fully weaned and eating independently
- A pre-ship observation period to rule out signs of illness or unusual stress
- Species-appropriate crating with food and hydration support for the length of transit
A bird that doesn't pass this screening is held back, not shipped, even if that means delaying your order.
Licensing and legal compliance
QuakerParrot.online operates under the applicable permits required to sell and ship live birds domestically, and we review each order against the compliance requirements for the destination before confirming it.
Buyer responsibility: quaker parrots are restricted or banned in a number of states, counties, and municipalities specifically because of their status as an agricultural species of concern. It's your responsibility to confirm that owning one is legal at your delivery address before you order. We're happy to help you check, just ask before you buy.
Live Arrival Guarantee
We guarantee your bird will arrive alive when the following conditions are met:
- Someone is available to receive and sign for the shipment at the scheduled time
- The unboxing is recorded on unbroken video, from a sealed box to the bird being removed
- Any issue is reported to us within 24 hours of delivery, with that video and clear photos attached
If these conditions are met and your bird did not survive transit, we'll offer a replacement of equal value or a full refund of the bird's purchase price, see Section 8 for details. Shipping charges are non-refundable in all cases.
How we ship
Live birds ship using carriers and methods suited to the season, distance, and species, typically next-flight-out or overnight air transport, timed to minimize time in transit.
- We schedule around weather at both ends of the trip. We will not ship into extreme heat or cold, even if it delays your order.
- You'll receive an estimated delivery window as soon as your bird is booked for transit.
- A valid phone number and someone available on delivery day are required for every live shipment.
Weather holds and carrier delays are outside our control. When they happen, we keep your bird safe and rebook at the earliest safe opportunity, at no extra cost to you.
Receiving your bird
Before delivery day:
- Have the cage, food, and water set up and ready before your bird arrives
- Keep the room quiet, warm, and free of other pets during unboxing
- Start recording before opening the shipping box and keep the video running until your bird is safely in its enclosure
- Offer fresh water and familiar food right away, then let your bird rest undisturbed
Filing a claim
If something's wrong on arrival, or your bird shows visible signs of injury or acute illness, contact us right away at info@quakerparrot.online with your order number, your full unedited unboxing video, clear photos, and a description of what you observed. We respond to claims within 24–48 hours and will walk you through next steps personally.
Refunds, replacements, and store credit
Because live animals can't be returned once they've left our facility, refunds and replacements are handled through the Live Arrival Guarantee rather than a standard return process. Once a claim is approved, you may choose:
- A replacement bird of the same or comparable value, shipped at the next available safe date
- A refund of the bird's purchase price to your original payment method
- Store credit, issued at 110% of the purchase price, toward a future order
Shipping fees, crating fees, and any add-on products are non-refundable. We do not accept live bird returns for reasons of changed mind after delivery, please be certain before you order.
Acclimation and normal stress behavior
It's completely normal for a quaker parrot to be quiet, fluffed up, or less vocal than usual for the first 24–72 hours after a move. Travel is a real change of environment, and even a bird known for chattering may need a short adjustment period before showing its usual personality and appetite.
These behaviors on their own are not grounds for a health claim. If quiet or subdued behavior continues past 72 hours, or is joined by labored breathing, discharge, or a refusal of all food and water, contact us and consult an avian veterinarian.
A note on escape-proofing
Quaker parrots are famously clever with latches and cage doors. Before your bird arrives, double-check that your cage door has a secure lock your bird can't work open, and keep an eye on window and door screens near the room where your bird spends time. This isn't part of a warranty claim, it's simply the single most common thing new quaker parrot owners wish they'd checked on day one.
Natural variation disclaimer
Feather color, pattern, and size vary naturally within the species and even within a clutch. Photos on our listings represent the species and general age range, not a guarantee of an exact match. Where sex is stated, it's based on DNA sexing as noted on the listing; where DNA results aren't included, sex should be treated as unconfirmed.
State and provincial restrictions
Ownership laws for quaker parrots vary by state, county, and city, and change over time. Confirm your species of interest is legal to own at your address before ordering.
Shipping to Canada: international orders may require import permits and CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) documentation depending on your province. Contact us before ordering so we can confirm what's required for your specific location.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, if we can't confirm a shipment can legally be completed to your address.
Quarantine recommendation
If you already own other birds, we strongly recommend quarantining your new arrival in a separate room, with separate food and water dishes and no shared airflow, for a minimum of 30 days before introducing it to your existing flock. This is standard aviculture practice and protects both your new bird and your current birds while any travel stress resolves.
Orders, payment, and cancellations
- Orders are confirmed once payment is received in full and a ship date is agreed
- A deposit or full payment reserves a specific bird for you; birds are not held without payment
- Cancellations made before a bird is booked for shipment are eligible for a refund, minus any payment processing fees already incurred
- Once a shipping date is booked, cancellations may be subject to a rebooking or restocking fee
